In this uneasy time, I’m turning to the wisdom of Mr. Rodgers.
“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.”
There are plenty of helpers combating the COVID-19 pandemic, including firefighters, paramedics, nurses, doctors, grocers, pharmacists, sanitation workers, postal workers, educators.
As well as truckers. Drivers’ Hours of Service (HOS) have been relaxed in certain situations and truck drivers are risking their health to move critical items across the country, to hospitals and stores...

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, between 2012 to 2016 during the St. Patrick’s Day holiday period, there were 269 fatalities due to drunk driving crashes. If you're going to celebrate with alcohol, be sure to remember the following precautions.

We will "spring forward" one hour starting early Sunday morning. Because the day is only 23 hours long, we will lose an hour of sleep. We will "fall back" into standard time on Sunday Nov. 1. We don't go back to standard time until Sunday, Nov. 1. Remember to turn back any analog clocks. This time of year is also a good time to look for vehicle recalls and check/change the batteries in your smoke alarms.
Checking for safety recalls is very important, but it is also very easy. Every vehicle has a unique VIN. Enter a VIN at NHTSA.gov/recalls to learn if your specific vehicle needs to be repaired...

Living in New York, you always have to have a few backup plans for getting around. When I hear the trains are delayed, I take the bus. A few weeks ago I took the bus home and something strange happened. The driver went off the scheduled route and started making strange stops. Passengers were uneasy, and I got off at the first stop I could and ended up taking a different subway line home.
If the bus was equipped with a Mobilemule™ Mobile DVR series, geo fencing would allow the fleet manager to get an alert when the vehicle deviates off the predetermined route.
DVR's are perfect for fleet managers...

It’s a brisk morning in Topeka, KS, winter 2001, and I’m
running late again. I warm up the old yellow Subaru and pull onto 10th street,
lurching towards Topeka High School. There’s a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch balanced
in my lap and a pair of headphones on my ears, Blood Brothers blaring. I’m approaching
the first green light, 10th and Gage, when there’s a loud flash of red at the
corner of my eye. I slam on the brakes. An ambulance rushes through the
intersection, missing my jalopy by inches. It was that close.I pull into the animal hospital parking lot and sit, shaking
in my car, cereal and... -

Winter weather and measurable snowfall has already started in many parts of the country.
Below are some tips from AAA on driving harsh conditions, please stay safe out there.
AAA Driving Tips
- Accelerate and decelerate slowly. Applying the gas slowly to accelerate is the best method for regaining traction and avoiding skids. Don’t try to get moving in a hurry. And take time to slow down for a stoplight. Remember: It takes longer to slow down on icy roads.
- Drive slowly. Everything takes longer on snow-covered roads. Accelerating, stopping, turning – nothing happens as quickly as on dry pavement...

The Super Bowl is an exciting event. I will be watching the game this Sunday, along with around 114 million people. As a native Kansan, I'll be cheering on my beloved Chiefs. Whether you are hosting a party or simply attending one, it's important to have a plan ahead of time that prevents drunk driving. We already know drunk driving is dangerous. 28 people die from an alcohol related crash in the US every day.
