Watch Chevy's Viral Truck-Anthem Collab

Chevy became the first major carmaker to give in to the Tik-Tok craze with its latest bid to appeal to the 25-54 age group, who make up 50% of new truck buyers in America.

Their rebooted version of “My Truck,” the country-hip hop song by Breland with 40 million YouTube views, was the first post from their account on the burgeoning social media platform.  Against the backdrop of other trucks and people just generally having a good time, the Silverado is the star of the Chevy version of the video clips.

The track is cut from the same musical cloth as the 2019 smash hit “Old Town Road,” and captures the best of both worlds: younger audiences of what’s usually two totally disparate genres.

In the videos, Chevy’s latest models were showcased to their first 140,000 Tik-Tok followers. This effort is to appeal to a market which is both active on social media and reaching the age of first-vehicle purchase. Exposing truck culture to a younger, more inclusive audience couldn’t come at a more opportune time, as the economy is currently in the midst of a potential rebound.

Since the collaboration, Chevy’s account has grown to 171.2K followers and garnered 780.2K likes, in addition to garnering tens of millions of views from the truck-loving community.

This one’s definitely on our “Don’t Touch My Truck” playlist.
