#SaveKidsLives | Sign The Declaration

Many people believe that road safety as a concept begins and ends with drivers. While it's true that protecting the lives of innocent people from auto accidents or injury is important, it is also only one small part of a much larger whole. Drivers aren't the only people on the road at any given moment - there are pedestrians out for a walk, bicyclists on their way to work and even small children who just want to get to school so that they can see friends and learn about their favorite subjects. Every day, more than 500 children around the world lose their lives in traffic crashes. It is exactly this type of situation that the #SaveKidsLives campaign was designed to stop.

#SaveKidsLives

#SaveKidsLives is an advocacy campaign that was designed to prevent those child deaths, along with the thousands more who are injured, through road safety education and awareness programs. The cornerstone of the campaign is an incredibly powerful declaration. The worldwide experts on automotive safety and similar matters have already gotten together to outline best practices and measures that need to be taken in order to make the roads as safe as possible for everyone, including kids. However, world leaders have as of yet failed to take action.

The child declaration is designed to do exactly that - demand that decision-makers and other world leaders finally sit up and take notice that the current level of road safety around the world is unacceptable and that something drastic needs to be done - now. By signing the declaration, you're showing that you are committed to creating a world where kids can be kids without having to look over their shoulder for a drunk driver or a person who can't stop themselves from sending a text message from behind the wheel of a car. Almost 1,000,000 people have already signed - will you be next?

The Rear View Safety Road Safety Resource Center

At Rear View Safety, we take not only the #SaveKidsLives campaign but also our position as an industry leading road and consumer safety organization incredibly seriously. While providing access to technological solutions like vehicle sensor systems and backup camera systems to help keep the roads safer for everyone is a large part of what we do, it is only that: a part. Another one of our priorities is one of empowerment through education, which is a large part of the reason why we created the Rear View Safety Road Safety Resource Center.

The goal of the Road Safety Resource Center falls into two distinct categories. For starters, it's designed to act as an invaluable educational resource that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week where people can turn to and find out the latest information about road safety best practices, road safety statistics and more. Secondly, our goal is to act as an outlet where people serious about road safety matters can send us content to publish on their behalf. Via the Road Safety Resource Center we can not only get that content published and distributed on the Internet, but we can also use our various social channels and other virtual resources to get that ever-important information in front of the eyes of the widest possible audience.
