Growing up in Kansas was loud. Sure, our family often traveled to the country or the lake for some peace and quiet, but for the most part it was pretty noisy. We lived by the highway, so the constant hum of traffic is something that I have trouble sleeping without.
Some places were louder than others. Excited teenagers would often rev their souped-up Hondas in the Golden Corral parking lot. A perfect Saturday night. I was across the street in the CD Trade Post/Taco Bell parking lot, learning how to skateboard. My yellow Subaru made a lot of noises, but none of them were impressive.
Of course, New...

Yesterday Justin Ross Harris was found guilty of murder after the death of his 22-month-old son, Cooper. During the trial, prosecutors argued that Harris intentionally locked Cooper inside of his car because he didn’t want the responsibilities that came with having a family. The defense claimed that the death was an accident caused by a lapse in memory.
In addition to three counts of murder, Harris was also found guilty of three counts relating to electronic exchanges of lewd material with two minor girls and two counts of cruelty to children.
The trial focused on painting Harris as having a...

I’ve written about my own personal experience with the dangers of drowsy driving before. It is a dangerous epidemic that cannot be ignored. According to a National Sleep Foundation Sleep in America poll, 60% of adult drivers, roughly 168 million people, say they have driven a vehicle while feeling drowsy in the past year, and more than one-third, 103 million people), have actually fallen asleep while driving.
While it’s difficult to measure the scope of the problem, NHTSA reports that between 2005 and 2009 there were an average of 83,000 crashes each year related to drowsy driving.

Rideshare driving is a relatively new phenomenon, our only past experience to draw upon has been taxi driving. When services like Uber or Lyft broke through to the mainstream, the once foreign concept of regular drivers taxiing you around was strange. But, it is interesting that it took such a long time to take hold, after all everyone past a certain age has driven or knows how to drive in some fashion.
Ridesharing was only the natural evolution of taxiing people around. One thing you’re never too experienced to accept is driving safety tips.
Basic Rideshare Safety Guidelines

I still remember the day I got my driver’s license. After a year with a learner’s permit driving to and from high school, countless hours driving with my parents, and a frustrating 30 minutes in a technical school parking lot with my brother trying to learn stick (Sorry, Walker), the day finally arrived.
The written test was easy. I studied hard, I needed this license. The driving test was with 3 other potential drivers. When I was up, I drove defensively, checked all my mirrors and passed with flying colors. I was so relieved and proud. I could almost taste the milkshakes I was going to buy after...

While Ford has been testing autonomous vehicles for quite a while, the company just dropped some huge news that will change the transportation world, and the world in general. At yesterday’s press conference in Palo Alto, California, the automotive giant announced that a fully autonomous vehicle for ride-hailing/ride sharing will be mass produced by 2021. (That’s only 5 years away!)
“The next decade will be defined by automation of the automobile, and we see autonomous vehicles as having as significant an impact on society as Ford’s moving assembly line did 100 years ago,” said Ford President and...

For many adults and college-aged teens, alcohol consumption can become a part of their casual lives. One of the first things my fiancé Kelly and I did when we moved to New York City from the Midwest was sell her car. It became very clear that parking in Washington Heights was very time consuming and/or expensive, and hey, we can just take the train, bus, use ride sharing, or borrow my brother and sister-in-law’s car (Thanks Walker and Mary!) I was perfectly happy being carless until Kelly and I buy an RV and travel the country when we are in our 60s. A new app is making me think we may have made the wrong choice.

We were consulted for a Commercial Carrier Journal article on backup cameras. Happy to lend our expertise to a great site.
Electronics have infiltrated practically every corner of the modern truck cab in an ongoing effort to make driving safer and easier, and backing up – often an afterthought when it comes to driving – has been thrust into the foreground as of this year with plenty of techno-aids in tow.
Rearview cameras are increasingly common on the road and were implemented as standard equipment on passenger cars beginning with the 2016 model year.
In 2014, the U.S. Department of Transportation...

St. Patrick's Day has long been the day designated to celebrate the Irish roots of approximately 34.2 million Americans.
