Check The Battery

 When travelling long distances it is important to ensure that the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems) works fine. This again takes some time and cannot be done overnight. The onus lies on you to have the HVAC system checked by the right professionals and you cannot expect to take shortcuts on this.

Check All The Fluids

 When you are travelling long distance you have to be sure that you check all the fluid in the car. The engine oil, the brake oil, power steering lubrication, clutch and gear oil are just a few examples. Unsure? Take your car to professionals. You also should take care to see that the antifreeze liquid and coolants and also the windshield water solvent. It must be full and you also should have some stock readily available with you.

Be Sure That Wiper And Lighting Are Working Fine

Yes, when travelling long distances the onus lies on you to ensure that the lighting systems and wipers are working fine.
