I'm getting married in 4 days. Maybe i'll have kids at some point. Families get busy, who would you trust to drive your kids? While Uber itself won't let children travel alone or create an account, some families are breaking the rules. A few companies are vying to become the 'Uber for children,' offering shuttles for kids from one destination to another. no parents required.

Uber for Kids

HopSkipDrive, started by three moms in 2014, only hires drivers who not only pass comprehensive 15-point background checks, and also have at least five years of child-care experience and are willing to get fingerprinted. This service is available to children 6 and older. The driver also acts as a nanny, doing things such as signing a child in or out or school. The California company expanded to Denver earlier this year.

Kango, who offers rides and standard childcare teamed up with Chrysler last year, while Zum offers a dedicated pool of drivers for each family so the kids always know the drivers. These are just a few of the many like minded ride share companies taking off.

Gaining Trust

These companies use various screening processes and different technologies to keep parents informed every step of the way. The real question is, what works for you and your family? I'm unsure if my future kids will ever use a service like these, but I will definitely do my research on it.
