When I was growing up the holidays meant a lot of travel. My family, like 107 million Americans, traveled from Dec. 23 - Jan 1. Having 3 older brothers, it was always a magic trick getting our large family into a car in any kind of timely fashion. We spent Thanksgiving and Christmas with family in Kansas City, about an hour away from home in Topeka.
