A recent video by YouTube channel Roadcams proves the effectiveness of Volvo's Automatic Emergency Braking Technology (AEB). The shocking footage shows a semi missing a running child running into traffic after being dropped of at a bus stop. This technology saved a child's life.

The truck misses the child, thanks to a combination of the child changing direction and the advanced AEB system. These systems detect an impending forward crash in time to avoid a collision. They system first warns the driver to take corrective action to avoid the crash. If there is no reaction from the driver, The AEB system automatically applies the brakes to assist in preventing or reducing the severity of a crash.
