3 Pickup Mod Trends That Are Actually Useful

We’re not ones to jump on bandwagons (unless said wagon is equipped with side and backup cameras), but we love our truck mods. After all, what’s cooler than a well-done lift kit on your pickup that can take you off-road with ease?

Still, we prefer to stay on the safe side with our picks, so don’t expect any obnoxious smoke switches or useless tailgate nets....

Heavy Duty Hitch

We’re starting off with function over form. If there ever was a true calling for your pickup truck, attaching a hitch for hauling heavy stuff would be it. In fact, some trucks are built with this purpose specifically in mind.

Make sure you’re getting all the necessary accessories when buying your heavy duty hitch. Adding the right hitch camera is a MUST, especially if you’re cruising down a highway attached to a camper that weighs a few tons. No worries, we’ve got your back on that part!

Tonneau Covers and Tarps

Sure, you love the way your pickup looks with that exposed bed, but what about when the harsh weather hits? If you’re using your truck for work or a project that requires moving sensitive building materials, removable covers and tarps should be mandatory.

You’ll need something to cover that open area and whatever you’re carrying, so a tonneau cover or tarp makes a ton of sense. If you're really concerned about preserving that open-air bed look, since you’ll be able to remove these at will. Plus they’re a better option than tailgate nets which will almost certainly get ripped!

Backup Camera System

Okay, we’re biased with this one, but hear us out:

Why spend all that money on a nice lift, paint job, or fender flares if you’re not going to take care of them?

That’s where a pickup truck-specific Backup Camera System like the RVS-Pickup comes into play. The tiny shockproof and waterproof camera attaches flush to your tailgate and gives you a 170° viewing angle and night vision. The monitor replaces your rearview mirror for a clean look and features adjustable grid lines that improve accuracy for even the biggest trucks out there!

A pretty truck wrap is nice, but when it comes to mods, we like going beyond just cosmetics and getting the stuff that will extend the life of your truck, its mods, and the driver.
