Fall is my favorite season. Growing up in the midwest it was a welcome break from the heat, bugs, and cold that defined the other seasons. My birthday is in late October, I loved dressing up for halloween, and pumpkin pie is my favorite dessert. I'm getting married in Kansas just as the leaves are changing. also, gourds. Fall is my favorite season.

It makes sense that most family vacations are during the summer. Kids are out of school. I suggest taking a vacation during the fall, to see the bold colors of the season. Vox has an interactive map showing when and where fall foliage will peak.
