  1. excellent quality, easy to install. Review by jeff

I installed this system on our delivery pickup that pulls a 24' enclosed trailer in bad weather. having the two cameras makes hooking up easy for one person, and being able to keep a camera on the back of the enclosed trailer makes it real easy to see what is behind you before you start to back up. would definitely recommend this unit again, had a little trouble at first with a monitor issue but talking to tech support, we sent it in for testing and received a replacement quickly. since then we have had no issues. 2. Great system Review by ac170

Really high quality system components. Cameras work great but they are relatively large and have a commercial look for sure. I also bought the magnet mount for the camera on my tow vehicle so I could try different locations before drilling any holes. Camera on my enclosed trailer really helps backing in driveways where children may be present. (Posted on 4/19/2016)

  3. Seeing from behind Review by Anonymous

This camera worked very well it was just what I needed (Posted on 4/4/2016)

  4. Four Stars Review by D Colby

The camera works great, the instructions could be better. (Posted on 4/4/2016)

  5. High product very robust, with important but minor install issue for RAM 1500 Review by DenTilly

Very pleased with the unit, both on truck [2014 RAM 1500 Outdoorsman] and 5th wheel. Excellent construction and viewing results. Note that my model and year truck did require the installation of a relay switch to make the unit operate as required. Purchased the relay at a local parts store and the issue was resolved. Installation on the truck took about five hours between my brother and myself, including time talking to the factory tech to sort out the need for the relay. Also note that the RAM has a standard factory insert in the firewall that can be used to feed the cables into the cabin from the engine compartment. (Posted on 3/14/2016)

  6. Very nice system! Review by Greg

Quality is great! Installation wasn't too bad!

The only concern I have is the lack of information for installing on Chevy 2500HD. Seems like everyone shies away from it?

I would absolutely recommend to friends!

  7. Poor tech support Review by John

I ordered RVS-770614-213 (two camera system with trailer connector).
The quality of the cables and components appear to be well made and excellent quality. The system I ordered was delivered much faster than expected and was packaged very well.

  8. great product. very well made. Review by jeepvin

I bought to put on the back of my F250 to make hooking up the toy hauler easier. Second camera will be for the back of the toy hauler so I can see what's behind me on the freeway and backing into spots. Taking the items out of the box I was impressed with the build quality. Screen didn't feel cheap and cameras are housed in metal. Cables seem high quality and so does the connections. I bench tested the unit and looks great! Audio is an added bonus. Won't be installing in my truck till this spring though. The screen is large which is awesome but at the same time hinders your mounting options. Luckily the included mount gives many mounting options, it's highly adjustable. The camera for the back of the truck will be alittle tricky to mount and make look good. Also didn't want it In plane sight as people might mess with it. Figured out I can mount it behind the license plate, lots of room behind it and the camera will be completely hidden, will neet to get a flip up license plate bracket.
Very happy with my purchase and can't wait to use it. Anyone who tows a camper or trailer should have one of these. (Posted on 11/13/2014)

  9. 2 Camera system for truck & trailer works perfectly and allows 1 person backing. Review by Jeff

This system is exactly what it is advertised to be. High quality, solid and reliable it is perfect for the intended use. I can back my truck to the trailer tongue an dine it up perfectly without help. I can also see where my trailer is going without someone to guide me. This system solves a huge safety issue for me. when not trailering it is a superb back0-up camera for my 2001 F150 Super Crew. I love it. Very happy with my purchase. Not the cheapest around but well worth the investment . I highly recommend this company's cameras and monitors. (Posted on 9/8/2014)

  10. Good product, fair price, easy install Review by godad

Questions on Backup Camera System | Two Camera Setup with Trailer Tow Quick Connect Kit

  • From Christina Workman at 7/13/2014 10:44 AM
    • How long is the wire to hook up the camera.
    • The wiring for this system works as follows:
For the camera designed to go on the back of the trailer, the cabling runs 66' to the front of the trailer where it connects to the pigtail cable that runs between the vehicles. It then runs 26' from the back of the truck to the front where it connects to the power harness.
For the camera designed to go on the back of the truck, the cabling that comes for it is 66' long.

  • From Pete Nixon at 8/8/2014 3:07 PM
    • Does each camera have to be provided with 12vdc vehicle power, or is there only one power connection for the entire system? I'm a little confused because with some of your multi-camera systems, there is a separate box into which all the cameras and monitor connect and that box is then connected to vehicle power.
    • Each of our wired systems have just one power source for the entire system. The system is powered from the fuse box with either a multiplexer or in this case a power harness. This connects to power and then all cameras and the monitor connect to it and draw power from it.
    • Do you find this question helpful?  Yes   No
  • From Bernie at 8/19/2014 4:58 PM
    • Does this system have an SD card for storage and instant playback
    • This system is just for viewing a live feed from the cameras, not for recording. For recording options see our DVR section under Our Products>Dash Cameras/DVR.
    • Do you find this question helpful?  Yes   No
  • From Walt at 10/30/2014 10:35 AM
    • Can the system be on all the time while driving or is it designed to be only used for backing up?
    • The system can be on all the time. You'll have the option to connect the cameras to ignition power which will allow them to be on the whole time, or to backup power where they'll come on only while in reverse.
    • Do you find this question helpful?  Yes   No
  • From Bill Phelps at 1/22/2015 2:30 PM
    • Are the cameras weather proof?
    • They most definitely are! The cameras have an IP68 rating which means that they are completely weatherproof and waterproof and can actually be submerged in water for hours without an issue.
    • Do you find this question helpful?  Yes   No
  • From Jo at 2/27/2015 1:59 PM
    • Does the mic for the audio have to a certain distance in order for it to pick up sound or is there some turn on or off for it to pick up. I have installed the two camera system but do not hear sound in the truck. Please advise.
    • Audio will only work for a camera plugged into port #3 when the trigger wire for that port is connected. Check the trigger wire and make sure that the volume is turned up and you should get audio.

For a camera plugged into port #2 audio should work even without a trigger connected.
    • Do you find this question helpful?  Yes   No
  • From Marcelle Belanger at 5/12/2016 5:43 PM
    • I can't get the distance grid and the camera view on the same screen. What am I doing wrong??
    • The distance grid lines only display on port #3. Plug in your camera to port #3 and you should then see them on the camera view.

Auto Iris Sensor

Senses ambient light and automatically adjusts infra-red strength based on the ambient light.

Display Contrast/Contrast Ratio

The ratio of the brightest color (white) to the darkest color (black) that the system is capable of producing. A high contrast ratio is a desired aspect of any display.

Display Format/Display Aspect Ratio

The proportional comparison between a display’s width and height. It is expressed as two numbers separated by a colon. Common aspect ratios for displays are 4:3, 16:9, and 21:9. 16:9 is the international standard format for Full HD.

Dot Pitch

A dot pitch measures the maximum sharpness of a displayed image. Usually measured in millimeters (mm), a smaller number means a sharper image.

Dot Resolution

Dots are elements that make up an image. The higher the dot resolution, the higher quality the image.

Event Mode

Video recording mode which causes footage to be overwrite protected. Event mode is usually triggered with unusual vehicle movement or sudden impact.

Frames per second (FPS) is a measurement of how many unique consecutive images a camera can handle every second.

Measures impact or sudden changes in velocities. Once the G-Sensor is activated, event mode automatically begins.

Gamma Correction

Corrects colors on your display.

A style of video compression that allows for the greatest video quality with the smallest storage space.

IP Rating

The IP rating measures protection against solid and liquid objects. The larger the number, the higher the rating. An IP69K rating is the highest rating available, meaning that the system is completely weatherproof.

Infra-Red Illuminator

Infra-red lights are for night vision. Infra-reds emit light which the human eye cannot detect but cameras can. This greatly increases visibility in zero or low light conditions without an actual visible light source. Many of our cameras are equipped with infra-red lights.

Loop Recording

Video recording mode where after video storage is full, the camera will seamlessly loop over and begin recording over the oldest footage.

Mobile DVR

A recording device used to record video footage. DVR's are useful for fleet managers because they provide footage of accidents and information on vehicle's whereabouts and driving routes.

Motion Detection

A feature that automatically records before, during and after an impact while in parking mode. This way the driver has footage from an accident, even when they’re away from their car.

The control unit or "brain" of the system. The multiplexer powers the system, receives all cameras feeds and sends them to the monitor. The multiplexer is connected straight to the fuse box and has a power capacity of 12-24 volts.

National Television System Committee (NTSC) is a video system that transmits 30 frames per second (FPS).

Necessary/Usable Illumination

Measures how much ambient light (measure in lux) is needed to view an image. If your system has infra-red illuminators, 0 lux is needed.

Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) refers to equipment that was installed in a vehicle when it was manufactured. OEM style is an installation with a clean, factory look.

Phase Alternation by Line (PAL) is a video system that transmits 25 frames per second (FPS).

Picture Elements

Power Supply

Most of our systems may be powered by 12 or 24 volt batteries, meaning they can be powered by the vehicle battery. DC stands for direct current.

S/N Ratio (Signal-to-Noise Ratio)

Compares the level of desired signal to the level of background noise. A ratio above 1:1 (greater than 0dB) indicates more signal than noise.

A high quality monitor used in appliances such as television sets, computer monitors and mobile phones. A TFT LCD monitor improves image qualities including contrast and sharpness. These displays only use up to half the power of a traditional monitor.

TV Lines

The maximum number of alternating light and dark vertical lines that can be resolved per picture height. The higher the number, the better the image quality

An automatic action that occurs when a specific operation occurs. An example is a rear camera view displaying when a car is put into reverse.
