[Webinar #5] An in-depth look at drowsy driving

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our webinar on the dangers of drowsy driving yesterday. Missed it? Don’t worry, you can watch it below.

Drowsy Driving

Drowsy driving is a major problem. According to the CDC, an estimated 1 in 25 adult drivers (18 years or older) report falling asleep while driving in the previous 30 days.

The National Safety Council concludes that 43% of Americans admit they don’t get enough sleep to mitigate safety risks at work and on the road.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that drowsy driving was responsible for 72,000 crashes, 44,000 injuries, and 800 deaths in 2013. However, these numbers are underestimated and up to 6,000 fatal crashes each year may be caused by drowsy drivers.

This problem can and will be stopped. Being informed is the first step.
