Backup Cameras for Vehicles – like the new Lexus Hybrid!

As far as safety features go, the new Lexus Hybrid is a revolution. Backup cameras for vehicles don’t usually come inbuilt with them, but the new Lexus goes way beyond regular vehicles. Here’s a run down of the basic features:

Backup cameras and Blind spot cover cameras

There’s probably no driver who hasn’t had his or her car slightly damaged because their blind spot betrayed them. Dents and scratches are expensive to fix – far more expensive than the equipment that can be used to prevent them in the first place. But there’s also the danger of more serious damage – to human life for example. The Lexus has backup cameras that automatically switch on when the car goes into reverse.

The output is displayed on a flexible LCD monitor that serves multiple purposes. The backup camera is located just above the rear license plate and features a wide view for tight parking. Another camera sits on the front grill providing a 190 degree view allowing you to cover your blind spots.

Stay in your lane

Astonishingly, the Lexus also has cameras that help you stay in your lane without drifting away. It does this by actually sensing where the white lines are painted on the road and assisting the driver to find the center of the lane. It works in tandem with cruise control. It helps if you’re driving fast because then the lines become much clearer and the sensor becomes more forgiving of breaks in the paint. With cruise control on, the Lexus makes the adjustment automatically after giving a warning beep. Without Cruise control, it merely issues the warning.

Summary

The Lexus is a top of the line vehicle and far exceeds the specified safety requirements. With front and back cameras for safe backup and blind spot coverage, it’s a worthwhile investment.

Backup Cameras for Trucks

Reversing Cameras are critically important for road safety. Rearview mirrors have too many disadvantages including blind spots, as well as the inability to obtain a ground level view. Backup cameras for trucks however, are more than just important – they are almost a necessity.

Problems with Backing up Trucks

Due to their long length and their relatively low maneuverability, trucks pose a greater danger on the road than other vehicles. Because of this, federal regulations regarding truck safety are very strict indeed. Apart from the danger factor, trucks are expensive pieces of equipment and there is a good chance of damage when backing into loading docks. A small error in the initial angle can cause a nasty dent in the body work of the truck.

Experienced truck drivers know how to back up these vehicles, but even they need assistance with such maneuvers if they’re to be done quickly. For this, special backup cameras for trucks are available.

Features of Truck Backup Cameras

A full fledged backup camera for trucks will be a three camera system with one camera on either side. It will auto activate when the vehicle is put into reverse gear and display the view on a multipurpose LCD screen. It will also include infrared sensors for night viewing.

As can be seen, such a device is tremendously useful. Trucking firms need them not only to comply with various safety measures, but also to protect their investments. You can purchase these systems at prices starting at just $249.99
